"
Thanks to you and the staff for making such a prosperous show. You
guys get the people there that the vendors need."
–Dawn Trinkler,

While I know we were only one of many sponsors and vendors, I felt
like we could have been the only ones... We had record sales and
a great crowd.”

California
Seller's Permit and BOE 410-D Form
The California State Board of Equalization (BOE) requires all exhibitors
to have a BOE 410-D Form on file for the event. Exhibitors will not be
permitted to set up at the event without this document.
A representative from the California BOE will be on site to verify each
exhibitor's Seller's Permit Number and BOE 410-D Form.
STEP 1 - Obtain a California Seller's Permit
- California exhibitors who are selling products and/or taking orders
or leads will need to have their California Seller's Permit number on
file in the Equine Affaire, Inc. office.
-
Out-of-state exhibitors who are selling products and/or taking orders
or leads will also need to have a California Seller's Permit number.
The following are ways which exhibitors that do not already have a
Seller's Permit number may apply for this number:
Temporary permit–good for the event only. Click
here for a downloadable application. [www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/boe400spa.pdf]
Permanent permit–no time limit. Click
here for a downloadable application. [www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/boe400spa.pdf]
Please submit an application before December 15th to ensure time for the California
BOE to assign you a number and submit your form to Equine Affaire, Inc. by January
1, 2009.
- Exhibitors who are not selling products and/or taking orders or leads–and
those that are exempt (i.e., real estate)–will need to have a completed
BOE Form 410-D, "Special Events Certification," on file in
the Equine Affaire, Inc. office (see STEP 2 below).
For more details on the California Seller's Permit, please visit www.boe.ca.gov.
STEP 2 - All Exhibitors must complete a BOE 410-D Form
Every exhibitor, whether or not they are selling, must return a completed BOE 410-D
Form to Equine Affaire, Inc. no later than January 1, 2009. Click
here for a downloadable application. [www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/boe410d.pdf]
Please Note: Exhibitors will not be able to set up at the event without
returning a completed form to Equine Affaire, Inc. Any exhibitor without
a completed form also risks forfeiting their exhibit space and associated
fees.
