Tequila Sunrise 12-Year Old Chestnut Mare
Rare American Walking Pony Sunny is the only American Walking Pony in the Western Half of the United States
Owned by
Corren Tyler
of
Walk 'n Rhythm Farm
Sunny, also known as Tequila Sunrise, was born in Arizona and was raised as a true Southern California gal. She was brought to Hemet by her breeder Wanda, at the side of her dam (Summer Sunshine) and with her sire (Park's King George). Sunny started out as a Western Pleasure Pony and did parades with Wanda. She then found her self few years later as a little girl's western mount doing barrel racing, pole bending, gymkannaha and trail riding. In time, Sunny became the unwanted ratty pony in the backyard until her beloved human photographer, Corren, came across an advertisement in the local horse trade paper. It was 'love at first sight' - Sunny and Corren became a team.
While it took trying out a couple different stables, it wasn't until she cam to 'Proud Horse Stables' of Southern California that she felt at home. In the hands of trainer Bob Wise, she showed the ability of this rare breed to be trained quickly by pulling a cart. This was done in three hours with no previous training! Sunny meets every new challenge with confidence and a true competative spirit. Showing the true versatility of the breed, she also jumps, enjoys herding/driving sheep, obsticle courses, and mentors a young girl. Her favorite treats are Purina's Nicker Maker's (also a sponsor of this little pony).
Sunny's looking forward to making her National Debute at Equine Affaire 2009 as the Official California Ambassador of the American Walking Pony Association, representing her breed with pride. A live action TV Series, board game, and collectable model are already in her plans. Additionally, she supports Children With Out A Voice USA...and this little girl is JUST getting started.
