January 29–February 1, 2009—Equine Affaire: Fairplex, Pomona, CA Equine Affaire, the premiere horse exposition in North America, will return to Fairplex on January 29th through February 1st. The event’s legendary educational program will include hundreds of clinics, seminars, and demonstrations by highly-renowned national and international trainers, competitors, and coaches including general trainers Chris Cox, Craig Cameron, Mark Rashid, and Julie Goodnight as well as discipline-specific trainers including Steffen Peters (Dressage), Marlene McRae (Barrel Racing & Pole Bending), Elizabeth Graves (Easy-Gaited Horses), Yonnick Firehorse (Become One Spirit Horsemanship), Karen Scholl (Horsemanship for Women), Donna Snyder-Smith (Distance Competition and Centered Riding®), Diane Kastama (Driving), Steve Edwards (Mules & Packing), Bonnie Davis (Trail Riding & Camping),and James Shaw (Tai Chi for the Equestrian). Clinics for reining and hunter and jumper clinics will also be added to the roster. More than 350 of the nation’s finest equine-related retailers and manufacturers will fill six exhibit halls at Fairplex as well as the outdoor areas in between—creating the largest equine-related trade show in the West. An extensive Breed Pavilion will showcase a wide variety of breeds from around the world, and a fun and informative Youth Pavilion will offer activities and demonstrations for young horse enthusiasts. Equine Affaire will take place Thursday through Saturday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Sunday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Craig Cameron’s Extreme Cowboy Race will be featured Thursday through Saturday evenings beginning at 7:30pm. General admission for adults will be $16/day or $55/four-day pass; children 7–12 will be $10/day or $35/four-day pass; children six and under will be admitted free. General admission will include entry to the trade show, all clinics, seminars, and demonstrations, and the Extreme Cowboy Race™ each evening. (Adults will also receive a free event program with admission.) Fairplex will charge for parking.
